As of August 10, 2026, Apple’s 2026 roadmap is no longer just a list of predictions. Apple has already released the iPhone 17e, M4 iPad Air, MacBook Neo, M5 MacBook Air, M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro, refreshed Studio Displays, and AirPods Max 2. The company has also officially previewed Siri AI, although its more capable Siri remains in developer testing rather than general release.

The biggest unannounced possibility is a foldable iPhone. Bloomberg and other reports say Apple is targeting a September 2026 debut, but Apple has not confirmed the product, its name, its price, or even its retail availability date. Other products—including new Macs, Apple TV and HomePod mini models, a smart-home hub, camera-equipped AirPods, and smart glasses—range from credible reports to likely 2027 projects.

This guide separates shipping products, official announcements, strong reports, and speculation so you can tell what Apple has actually released and whether waiting makes sense.

Apple’s 2026 releases at a glance

Apple’s spring hardware wave was much larger than the original late-2025 roadmap suggested. The products below are confirmed releases, not rumors. Prices are U.S. starting prices before tax; education pricing is identified separately where available.

What Apple has already released

iPhone 17e: the former rumor is now a $599 phone

Apple announced the iPhone 17e on March 2 and began selling it on March 11. In the United States, it starts at $599 with 256GB of storage.

The 6.1-inch OLED phone uses Apple’s A19 chip and C1X modem. Its camera system includes a 48MP Fusion main camera with optical-quality 2x telephoto capability. It also adds MagSafe and satellite safety features, making it more fully equipped than a basic budget iPhone might suggest.

The important editorial correction is that the iPhone 17e should no longer be described as an early-2026 expectation. It is a shipping product. Older speculation about whether it would have features such as a Dynamic Island should not replace the specifications Apple actually announced. See Apple’s iPhone 17e release announcement for the confirmed configuration.

iPad Air with M4: 11-inch and 13-inch models

The new iPad Air arrived on March 11 in 11-inch and 13-inch versions. The 11-inch Wi-Fi model starts at $599, while the 13-inch Wi-Fi model starts at $799.

The main change is Apple’s M4 chip, supported by 12GB of unified memory. The tablets also use Apple’s N1 wireless connectivity chip, while cellular versions add the C1X modem. This makes the iPad Air a significantly more capable platform for multitasking and Apple Intelligence-compatible workloads, while keeping it below the iPad Pro in Apple’s lineup.

MacBook Neo: Apple’s low-cost MacBook is real

The product once described as a rumored low-cost MacBook became the MacBook Neo. Apple announced it on March 4 and made it available March 11. It starts at $599 in the United States, or $499 for education customers.

The Neo has a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a 2408-by-1506 resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and support for 1 billion colors. It uses an A18 Pro chip, has a fanless design, and is rated for up to 16 hours of battery life. The cited Apple test configuration includes 8GB of unified memory and a 256GB SSD. Other features include a 1080p camera, two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, macOS Tahoe, and four colors: blush, indigo, silver, and citrus.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Apple’s MacBook Neo announcement also makes clear why the product matters: it gives Apple a $599 entry point for a macOS laptop. That is not the same as turning the MacBook Air into a $599 machine.

Why does the MacBook Neo use an A18 Pro instead of an M-series chip?

Apple has not publicly explained the product-planning rationale in detail. The practical interpretation is that the A18 Pro gives Apple a power-efficient, fanless platform at a lower price and allows the Neo to share the Apple silicon architecture used by current Apple Intelligence-compatible devices. That does not mean the Neo is equivalent to an M5 MacBook Air in sustained performance.

The A18 Pro is a sensible fit for the Neo’s intended use: web browsing, schoolwork, documents, video calls, streaming, light photo work, and general macOS use. The 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage are the compromises that make the entry price possible. They are workable for basic users, but demanding buyers should think carefully before choosing the base configuration.

  • 8GB memory: adequate for ordinary productivity, but more likely to become restrictive with many browser tabs, virtual machines, large creative projects, or sustained multitasking.
  • 256GB storage: enough for documents and cloud-based workflows, but it can fill quickly with photos, games, video projects, and locally stored media. Storage cannot be casually expanded later, so buyers should choose carefully.
  • Fanless design: quiet and simple, but it is aimed at everyday workloads rather than long-running professional rendering or compilation.

MacBook Neo versus MacBook Air with M5

MacBook Neo MacBook Air with M5
Starting price $599 $1,099 for 13-inch; $1,299 for 15-inch
Processor A18 Pro M5
Display 13-inch Liquid Retina 13.6-inch or 15-inch options
Base storage 256GB 512GB
Cooling Fanless Higher-performance Air design
Best for Budget buyers, students, basic productivity, and macOS access More demanding multitasking, larger screens, and a wider performance margin

Apple’s claims that the Neo can be up to 50% faster or up to three times faster than a specified Intel Core Ultra 5 PC are Apple’s own comparisons, not independent laboratory results. They should not be treated as a universal performance ranking against every MacBook Air or Windows laptop.

MacBook Air with M5

Apple released the M5 MacBook Air in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes on March 11. The 13-inch model starts at $1,099 and the 15-inch model at $1,299. Both start with 512GB of storage and come in sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver.

This is the mainstream MacBook for buyers who want more headroom than the Neo provides without moving to the heavier and more expensive Pro line. The larger 15-inch option is especially relevant for users who want more workspace without buying an external monitor. Apple’s announcement is available on its M5 MacBook Air newsroom page.

MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max also became available March 11. U.S. starting prices are:

  • 14-inch M5 Pro: $2,199
  • 16-inch M5 Pro: $2,699
  • 14-inch M5 Max: $3,599
  • 16-inch M5 Max: $3,899

The updates include faster SSD performance, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thunderbolt 5, and up to 24 hours of battery life. Apple also positions the hardware for Apple Intelligence-oriented workloads. The Pro remains the appropriate tier for sustained professional workloads, advanced media production, large memory configurations, and buyers who need more ports and display capability. Details are in Apple’s MacBook Pro announcement.

Studio Display and Studio Display XDR

Apple’s spring release wave also included displays that deserved more attention than they received in early roadmap coverage. The refreshed Studio Display starts at $1,599. The new Studio Display XDR starts at $3,299.

The Studio Display XDR has a 27-inch 5K mini-LED panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, peak HDR brightness of 2,000 nits, more than 2,000 local dimming zones, Thunderbolt 5, and a 12MP Center Stage camera. It is aimed at professionals who need substantially stronger HDR performance than a conventional external monitor. Apple’s specifications and pricing are in the Studio Display and Studio Display XDR announcement.

AirPods Max 2

Apple’s AirPods newsroom lists AirPods Max 2 as a March 16, 2026 product release. That moves the product from the rumor column into the confirmed-release column. The supplied release listing does not provide a starting price or a complete specification summary, so those details should not be invented or inferred from earlier reports.

What is coming later in 2026?

Not every product in this section has the same level of certainty. The most useful way to read Apple’s roadmap is to divide it into four groups:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Confirmed and shipping: the spring hardware listed above.
  2. Officially announced, not generally available: Siri AI and the broader iOS 27 software cycle.
  3. Strongly reported but not announced by Apple: the iPhone 18 Pro line, a foldable iPhone, and several home products.
  4. Speculative or increasingly likely to slip to 2027: camera-equipped AirPods, smart glasses, a major OLED MacBook redesign, and some smart-home products.

Siri AI: what “LLM Siri” actually means

“LLM Siri” is a media shorthand for a much more capable, conversational assistant. Apple’s official name is Siri AI. Apple previewed it at WWDC26 on June 8 as part of the next generation of Apple Intelligence.

Siri AI is intended to move beyond isolated voice commands. Apple’s announced capabilities include:

  • Personal context: understanding information across messages, emails, photos, and other personal content to provide more relevant answers.
  • On-screen awareness: recognizing what is currently displayed and helping users act on that content.
  • Systemwide app actions: carrying out tasks across supported apps instead of merely opening an app or displaying a search result.
  • Broader web knowledge: providing more conversational answers and current-information lookup.
  • A dedicated Siri app: a separate interface with synchronized conversation history.
  • Writing and image tools: access to Apple Intelligence features for writing, images, Photos, Safari, and related tasks.
  • More natural conversation: follow-up questions and interactions that preserve more context than traditional command-based Siri.

Is Siri AI available now?

Only in a limited sense. Developer testing began June 8, 2026. Apple says a consumer beta will become available later in 2026, while iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27 are scheduled for the fall.

Apple has not provided a final public-release date or guaranteed that every Siri AI feature will arrive simultaneously in every language and region. A fall operating-system release should therefore not be interpreted as a promise that every advertised assistant feature will be complete on day one.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Which devices support Siri AI?

Apple lists Siri AI and Apple Intelligence support for the following hardware:

  • iPhone 16 models and later
  • iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPad mini with A17 Pro
  • iPad models with M1 or later
  • MacBook Neo with A18 Pro
  • Macs with M1 or later
  • Apple Vision Pro
  • Apple Watch Series 9 or later
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later
  • Apple Watch SE 3 when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone nearby

Hardware eligibility is only one requirement. The operating-system version, device language, region, beta status, and local regulatory rules also matter. Apple says some features that rely on powerful server models have daily usage limits.

Language and regional restrictions

Apple says Siri AI will initially be offered in supported devices set to English for consumer testing. Mac and Vision Pro users in the European Union can access Siri AI when using a supported language, but it will initially be unavailable on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch in the EU. Apple also says Siri AI and other new Apple Intelligence features will not initially be available in China while regulatory requirements are addressed. Check Apple’s Siri AI announcement and its iOS overview for the latest regional information.

Is Siri AI powered by Google Gemini?

Do not state that as an Apple-confirmed specification. Bloomberg reported that Apple selected Google’s Gemini technology to power parts of the new Siri. Apple’s public announcement describes Siri AI and its capabilities but does not identify Gemini as the underlying model. The accurate wording is: Bloomberg reported a Gemini role; Apple has confirmed Siri AI, not the specific model behind every feature.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Apple has also emphasized its privacy architecture. Some processing can occur on the device, while more demanding features may use server-based models. The practical takeaway is that Siri AI availability and behavior can depend on whether a task is handled locally or through Apple’s server infrastructure, not simply on whether a device appears on the compatibility list.

The fall iPhone launch

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

Multiple reports point to iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models arriving in September 2026. Apple has not announced them, so the September timing is a reported expectation rather than a confirmed launch date.

Reported features include an A20 or A20 Pro-class chip, a smaller Dynamic Island or altered front-camera layout, possible under-display Face ID components, a variable-aperture rear camera, a C2 or other Apple-designed modem, Apple’s N1 networking chip, and a possible dark red or burgundy color.

These details have different confidence levels. A fall Pro launch is a stronger expectation than any individual leak about the camera, biometric system, modem, color, or display cutout. Do not treat the rumored component list as an Apple specification.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What about the standard iPhone 18?

Current reports describe a possible change to Apple’s launch cadence. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max may arrive in fall 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 and possibly an iPhone Air 2 move to 2027. Apple has not confirmed this split schedule.

For buyers, that means “wait for iPhone 18” is ambiguous. If you want the highest-end model, the reported fall window is relevant. If you want the regular iPhone 18 at a lower price, waiting through September may not produce the expected result. The reported schedule comes from coverage collected by MacRumors and should remain labeled as unconfirmed.

The foldable iPhone: the biggest unannounced Apple product

The foldable iPhone is not confirmed by Apple. It is nevertheless the strongest major hardware rumor for the second half of 2026. Bloomberg reported that the project remained on track for a September debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. The Information reported that Apple had moved beyond the conceptual stage and assigned the project an internal product code, V68.

Those reports provide meaningful evidence of development, but development is not the same as a public announcement. Apple could change the schedule, announce the device with a later ship date, limit first-wave supply, or restrict initial availability to some regions.

What reports broadly agree on

  • A book-style design that folds inward, rather than a small clamshell phone.
  • An internal display of approximately 7.7 inches and an external display of approximately 5.3 inches.
  • An unfolded experience closer to an iPad mini than to a conventional iPhone.
  • Side-by-side apps and other iPad-style multitasking when open.
  • A premium price likely above $2,000, with some reports placing the range around $2,000 to $2,500.
  • A very thin unfolded chassis as one of Apple’s design goals.

Bloomberg’s report on the iPad-like interface is particularly important because the appeal of a foldable depends as much on software adaptation as on the hinge and screen.

What remains unknown

Apple has not confirmed the product’s name. “iPhone Fold” and “iPhone Ultra” are unofficial labels used in reporting, not established Apple branding. The following details also remain uncertain:

  • Final screen dimensions and aspect ratios
  • Crease visibility and durability
  • Exact thickness and weight
  • Face ID versus Touch ID
  • Camera arrangement
  • Processor and memory configurations
  • Storage tiers and colors
  • Final price
  • Launch supply and regional availability

Reports have suggested two rear cameras, one front camera, and Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID. Those are leaks, not confirmed specifications. The reported price above $2,000 is also an estimate, not an Apple figure.

What a first-generation foldable would mean for buyers

A foldable could replace some of the need to carry both an iPhone and a small tablet, but it could also duplicate capabilities at a very high price. The relevant trade-offs are more important than a leaked screen measurement:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Cost: a price above $2,000 would put it well above standard iPhone models and likely above many iPad-plus-iPhone combinations.
  • Repair complexity: a folding display and hinge create more complicated repair and durability questions than a conventional phone.
  • Software maturity: apps may need layout changes to take full advantage of the larger inner display.
  • Biometrics: Touch ID would be a meaningful change for users accustomed to Face ID.
  • Weight and thickness: a thin design goal does not guarantee a light device or a comfortable folded profile.
  • Availability: a September announcement may not mean broad retail stock in September.

Bloomberg, The Information, and MacRumors have tracked the project in their respective foldable iPhone reporting, development report, and roundup. None changes the central fact: Apple has not announced a foldable iPhone.

Macs still expected or rumored for 2026

The Mac roadmap is crowded, but it is not equally reliable. Apple has already refreshed the MacBook range in the spring, so later reports describe another wave rather than a single guaranteed event.

Mac mini, Mac Studio, and possibly an M5 iMac

Apple’s reported 2026 Mac slate includes a Mac mini with M5 and M5 Pro, a Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra, and possibly an M5 iMac. Earlier reporting placed the Mac mini and Mac Studio around the middle of 2026, but Apple had not announced them in the cited newsroom material by August 10.

They should therefore be treated as unconfirmed roadmap products. If you need a Mac mini or Mac Studio now, do not buy solely on the assumption that a replacement will definitely arrive on a particular date. Apple’s Mac newsroom is the appropriate place to verify an announcement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A lower-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6

One reported possibility is a lower-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip, potentially beginning the next Mac refresh wave in late 2026. Bloomberg’s reporting, summarized by Bloomberg Law, describes Apple preparing new versions across the Mac range in fall 2026 and the following year.

This should not be confused with the MacBook Pro models already released with M5 Pro and M5 Max. The M6 report is about a future generation and remains unconfirmed.

OLED MacBook Pro or “MacBook Ultra”

A more ambitious report describes a redesigned OLED MacBook Pro, sometimes called a MacBook Ultra in coverage. Reported features include an OLED display, touchscreen capability, a thinner design, a Dynamic Island-style camera cutout, and M6 Pro or M6 Max chips.

The timing is uncertain. Reports place the major redesign in late 2026 or early 2027, making it unsafe to call it a definite 2026 product. The unofficial “MacBook Ultra” name is also not an Apple-confirmed product name. See the Bloomberg Law summary and MacRumors’ 2026–2027 roundup for the reported timing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Mac Pro and larger iMac uncertainty

Reports have mentioned a Mac Pro with an M5 Ultra update, but other coverage has placed the Mac Pro on the back burner. A rumored M5 Max iMac may be an internal test configuration rather than a retail product. Both belong in the low-confidence category rather than the confirmed 2026 release list.

Apple’s smart-home push

Apple may finally be preparing a more coherent smart-home lineup, but the schedule appears to have slipped and depends heavily on Siri AI.

HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K

Apple has not announced new HomePod mini or Apple TV models. Current reporting places both in a fall 2026 window and suggests possible Apple silicon, the N1 networking chip, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thread, and compatibility with the new Siri AI.

A FaceTime camera on Apple TV has also been reported, but that feature is particularly uncertain. A July report placed the Apple TV and HomePod mini in fall 2026 while moving the new home hub to October 2026 or early 2027. These products should be described as reported roadmap items, not scheduled Apple releases. The timing is covered by TechRepublic.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Apple’s smart-home hub

The rumored Apple smart-home hub did not appear in the earlier March or April window. Current reporting moves it to October 2026 or early 2027.

Reported characteristics include a square 6- to 7-inch display, wall-mounted and tabletop versions, an A18 chip, a FaceTime camera, and Siri AI as the main interaction model. It could control smart-home accessories and display music, weather, calendar, notes, photos, and calls.

The delay matters because it appears tied to Siri AI readiness. A smart display would be one of the first obvious consumer products built around the new assistant, but Apple has not confirmed its existence, name, price, subscription model, launch date, Matter support, or whether its camera would be optional or always active.

Before treating the hub as a serious purchase decision, buyers should want answers to several practical questions:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Does it require an iPhone for setup or advanced functions?
  • Can it serve as a Home hub and control Matter accessories?
  • Which Siri AI features work locally and which require server processing?
  • Will there be a subscription?
  • Will Apple TV and HomePod mini receive the same Siri AI capabilities?

AirPods, Apple Watch, and other wearables

Camera-equipped AirPods

Bloomberg reported in May that camera-equipped AirPods had reached an advanced testing stage as part of Apple’s AI-device work. Earlier reports suggested a possible 2026 launch, potentially alongside the iPhone 18 line. More recent coverage says the camera-equipped version may instead be a 2027 product, although a different AirPods refresh could still arrive in 2026.

This is a classic example of a project that should not be counted as a definite 2026 release. The technology may be real and relatively advanced, but testing does not establish a retail launch date. Bloomberg’s testing report and TechRadar’s timing analysis reflect the uncertainty.

AI smart glasses

Apple is reportedly working on display-less smart glasses with cameras, speakers, sensors, and processing provided partly through an iPhone. Apple could preview the glasses in late 2026, but current reporting points more strongly to a commercial product in 2027.

That distinction matters: a preview, internal demonstration, or developer announcement is not the same as a product consumers can buy. Smart-glasses timing has been reported by MacRumors and Bloomberg’s AI wearables report.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4

Reports also discuss future Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 models, but the supplied roadmap reporting does not establish confirmed specifications or a firm availability date. They should remain in the rumor category until Apple announces them. Their possible arrival should not be used as a reason to delay buying an Apple Watch unless you specifically want to wait for the normal fall wearable cycle.

Products that should not be overcounted as 2026 releases

Some Apple roadmap lists advertise a large number of products, but those lists often combine confirmed products, different configurations, rumors, internal projects, and possible 2027 launches. As of August 10, these should not be presented as definite 2026 releases:

  • Camera-equipped AirPods: advanced testing has been reported, but the camera version may arrive in 2027.
  • Smart glasses: a 2026 preview is possible; a commercial release is more likely in 2027.
  • A more advanced tabletop robot: a longer-term project rather than a safe 2026 product.
  • OLED MacBook Pro or MacBook Ultra: reported for late 2026 or 2027, with no firm release confirmation.
  • Mac Pro: both timing and the likelihood of a near-term retail refresh remain uncertain.
  • Apple smart-home hub: reported for October 2026 or early 2027 after missing the earlier spring window.
  • Standard iPhone 18: current reports suggest it may move to 2027 rather than launch with the Pro models in September.

Should you buy now or wait?

If you need a MacBook now

Choose Best fit Main compromise
MacBook Neo Lowest price, schoolwork, browsing, documents, streaming, and basic Apple Intelligence use 8GB memory, 256GB storage, A18 Pro performance ceiling, and a smaller 13-inch display
MacBook Air M5 Most buyers, heavier multitasking, larger display choices, and more performance margin Starts at $1,099, substantially more than the Neo
MacBook Pro M5 Pro/Max Sustained professional workloads, media production, advanced displays, demanding AI work, and more ports High price and more hardware than ordinary users need

Waiting for a future M6 MacBook Pro or OLED redesign only makes sense if you need those specific features and can tolerate an uncertain late-2026 or 2027 schedule. The currently available M5 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are not placeholder products; they are Apple’s current shipping lineup.

If you are considering an iPhone

  • Buy the iPhone 17e now if you want a $599 iPhone with 256GB, MagSafe, an A19 chip, and immediate availability.
  • Wait for fall if you want the newest Pro model, a possible redesigned front-camera system, or the first chance to see whether Apple actually introduces a foldable iPhone.
  • Do not assume the regular iPhone 18 arrives in September. Current reports point to a possible Pro-first schedule, with the standard model potentially moving to 2027.
  • Do not budget around a $2,000–$2,500 foldable. That range is reported speculation, not Apple pricing, and the product may have limited initial supply.

If Siri AI is the reason you want a new device

Do not buy based solely on the phrase “Apple Intelligence.” Check all of the prerequisites: supported hardware, the required operating-system version, device language, region, consumer-beta availability, and whether the specific feature is available on that platform.

The MacBook Neo is notable because Apple includes its A18 Pro configuration in the Siri AI and Apple Intelligence compatibility list. Conversely, an older iPhone may support some newer software features but not the full Siri AI experience. The European Union and China restrictions also mean that a compatible device does not guarantee identical access everywhere.

If you are waiting for the foldable iPhone

Wait if you specifically want a large-screen phone that folds into a more portable form and are comfortable with first-generation risk. Do not wait if you need a reliable phone now, want predictable repair costs, or expect the foldable to replace a phone and tablet at a conventional iPhone price.

The most important unknowns are not just the display size. They are durability, crease behavior, software support, weight, biometrics, price, repairability, and actual supply. A reported September target is a reason to watch Apple’s fall announcements—not proof that the device will be available to everyone that month.

How to read Apple’s 2026 roadmap

The original roadmap snapshot was published on December 31, 2025. It is now outdated in several important ways: the low-cost MacBook shipped as MacBook Neo, Siri moved from an expected iOS 26.4 feature to the officially previewed Siri AI in iOS 27, and the spring hardware wave already happened.

It is also important not to treat an unofficial name as a product announcement. iPhone Fold, iPhone Ultra, MacBook Ultra, and Home Hub are useful reporting labels, but Apple has not confirmed that these will be the final names.

Likewise, a reported launch window can mean several different things: an announcement, developer preview, limited first shipment, or broad retail availability. The foldable iPhone is the clearest example. Multiple strong reports point to September, but Apple’s announcement and shipping schedule could still differ.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the low-cost MacBook available now?

Yes. It is called MacBook Neo, not simply the low-cost MacBook. Apple announced it on March 4, 2026, began availability March 11, and priced it from $599 in the United States, or $499 for education.

Is Siri AI available to everyone?

No. Siri AI entered developer testing on June 8, 2026. Apple says a consumer beta will arrive later in 2026, with broader iOS 27 and related operating-system availability planned for fall. Language, region, device, and regulatory restrictions apply.

Has Apple confirmed the iPhone Fold?

No. Bloomberg and other reports say Apple is targeting a September 2026 launch, but Apple has not announced the device, its name, price, specifications, or retail availability.

Will the regular iPhone 18 launch in September 2026?

That is uncertain. Current reports describe a possible split schedule in which the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max arrive in fall 2026 while the standard iPhone 18 and possibly iPhone Air 2 move to 2027.

Should I buy a MacBook Neo or wait for a future Mac?

Buy the MacBook Neo now if you need an inexpensive Mac for basic productivity, schoolwork, browsing, and streaming. Choose the M5 MacBook Air for more demanding multitasking or a larger display, and the M5 Pro or Max MacBook Pro for sustained professional work. Future M6 and OLED MacBook reports do not have firm release dates.

The Bottom Line

Apple’s 2026 story has three different chapters. The first is already complete: iPhone 17e, M4 iPad Air, MacBook Neo, M5 MacBook Air, M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro, Studio Display XDR, and AirPods Max 2 are released products. The second is official but unfinished: Siri AI is real, yet still in developer testing with a consumer beta promised later in the year. The third is still a bet: the foldable iPhone may debut in September, but it remains unannounced and could have limited availability.

For most buyers, the decision is straightforward. Buy the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air M5, MacBook Pro, or iPhone 17e according to your needs today. Wait for the fall only if you specifically want Siri AI’s consumer beta, an iPhone 18 Pro, or the possibility of Apple’s first foldable iPhone—and treat every other roadmap item as uncertain until Apple announces it.
